It is with great pleasure that I announce our school has
been named to the Newsweek top 100 high schools across the nation. We have
worked diligently over past few years to increase the student participation in our Advanced Placement
program, which has grown from five courses to over twenty which
encompass subjects ranging from AP Art History, AP German and AP US History. We have an average of 80% of our students who receive a 3 or higher on their AP
test. Students who participate in our AP program can take classes that. The level of rigor that
is embedded in our school’s courses is shown through the student achievement on the AP exams. Our efforts have not been in
vain, and we will continue to offer AP support through after school study
sessions, and AP Teacher training. Great
Ridge High School was built in 2007, and opened to grades 9-10 with a student
population of 1000. Today, we have close to 2500 students and 150 staff
members. The work we have done is only the beginning and I look forward to
sharing more WOLVERINE Updates as they come.
Respectfully,
Jerome Terrell Fleming
